“You deserve honesty from the heart; yes, utter sincerity and truthfulness. Oh, give me this wisdom.”
-Psalm 51:6 (TLB)
The Bible teaches that purity of conduct includes truthfulness. The Bible teaches that we should be truthful in our representation of ourselves. With what scorn Christ denounced the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees! In the Sermon on the Mount He rebuked all hypocritical giving, praying, and fasting. We should also be truthful in speaking of our past achievements in our particular vocation. God does not ask us to understate the facts—that might even be untruthfulness—but neither does He want us to overrate our achievements or our gifts, either in thought or in speech. A lie is anything contrary to the naked truth.
arrow Prayer for the day
It is so easy, Lord, to embellish the truth. Give me Your wisdom to be completely honest in every phase of my life.
MAKE A LOUD NOISE.
You know I got to thinking the other day and
all this stuff about not saying Merry Christmas
is because it seems in America these days it is
the loudest noise makers that get their way.
That change things.
So, and this is gospel truth. I DID DO THIS.
I was in Wal-Mart the other day rushing around
getting our medications and a few other things
from the store. As I went through the line to
pay for my items. My pepsi fell off the moving
belt . The cashier and I said it was a good thing
it didn't bust open and had a few more comments to
each other in a jovial way. With big smiles on our
faces as I took the last bag she said "HAPPY HOLLIDAYS
TO YOU" I stopped dead in my tracks and shook my finger
at her and said NO, NO, YOU SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME.
The people behind me and beside me in the other checkout
counters could hear me and I meant for them too.
I asked her did the store tell you that you couldn't
say Christmas. The cashier said no, it just offends so
many people when we say Christmas . I said well it offends
me when you deliberately leave Christmas out. Let those
that don't like to say Christmas move to another country.
And I made sure everyone heard me. I MADE A NOISE.
SO, my theory is.. if we all make a noise and let
EVERYONE around us know that it offends us for them
to use Hollidays instead of Christmas then we even the
field. Oh it is okay to make a noise about saying Christmas
and to let the cashiers know it offends well I say MORE OF
US SHOULD MAKE A NOISE AND LET THEM KNOW WE GET OFFENDED
TOO. LIKE I TOLD THAT CASHIER.. NOPE YOU SAY MERRY CHRISTMAS
TO ME. AND IF THE STORE SAYS YOU CAN'T I WOULD LEAVE MY
ITEMS WITHOUT PAYING AND WALK OUT OF THAT STORE. .
