On first meeting,
we were sitting, talking,
both of us full of
convictions, ambitions,
planting the seed of a
friendship to come.
I was shy, but
over time we
discovered shared interests
and played silly games,
growing away from
a future us, but
watering a friendship
by growing closer.
Then, at first light
we were sitting, talking,
dawning in a new day,
friendship pushing through
the dirt of love and moving
toward the sky, on the verge
of a new horizon.
I was with you and
we were about to cross
the first of many
thresholds together,
perhaps the boldest,
blooming in front of
ourselves and others.
Loving and sharing through
each good and bad threshold
we cross together, we get
wrapped like two ivy vines
intertwining.
