 Everything on my page is clicky.  My name is Tara. I live in northern California. My husband and I have two adult children; a 24 year old son and an 18 year old daughter. I fell in love with graphics when I bought my first computer in 1995. It's amazing to see how both the community and graphics themselves have progressed over the years. Currently to create glitter graphics, I use several online photo editors. Someday I hope to purchase and learn how to use paintshop. Life has a way of presenting us with challenges.

I've had CBT and that helped a lot with the delusional and hallucination side of BPD, but it still commonly happens, especially during intense anxiety, depression and upset. There is no stopping the depersonalization and that takes a huge toll on family and loving my pets because you don't feel yourself and you don't feel emotion, so the world looks new and different.
I've tried counselling, psychotherapy, Cognitive behavioural therapy, psycho-dynamic approaches such as hypnotism. I found it useful but because depression and feeling intense emotion is a characteristic, it isn't like it can be treated and in the past, before my BPD diagnosis, we were trying to treat the problems rather than learning to cope with them and that is what DBT intends to do, coping mechanisms.
I'm surprisingly getting DBT on the NHS, it is very rare in this country to get DBT on the NHS. A psychiatric hospital in Liverpool gets tons of BPD patients and they don't receive DBT because they don't offer it there on the NHS. It is more of a private type of therapy so I feel lucky to be able to receive it. Other than that I would have had to of gone private.
The NHS hospital I go to is fantastic. No joke. People complain about the NHS care all the time for psychiatric treatment but if I'm ill, I can become an inpatient, see the psychiatrist urgently within a matter of 1 - 2 weeks where usually people with BPD aren't usually treated in hospital because the majority of the time there is little that can be done for them and there should be a huge amount of pressure on beds so I shouldn't really be treated as well as I am.
But in no way is DBT easy to get for free in England, no way. I've been on a waiting list since July 2013, got the appointment in January 2014 but that is because I became seriously ill. I shouldn't have had the appointment until mid 2014.
At first the psychosis could have been considered to be Schizophrenia related, it could still be if I have 1 more relapse, so that will be 3 within a short space of time because my meds get stopped. In addition to that, people with BPD can also show bipolar symptoms such as hypomania, because their mood swings extremely but it's too short of space in time to be bipolar. I think my psychosis is due to BPD not Schizophrenia. But it may be different for your sister but it kinda should be one or the other because the symptoms overlap a lot. BPD tend to be mental illness prone as my psychiatrist said, so suffering psychosis, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, hypomania etc... Your psychiatrist needs to be 100% sure of the diagnosis and some conditions such as BPD cannot really be diagnosed alongside things like Schizophrenia or Bipolar because the symptoms are so similar.
But who knows. Even I haven't got a definite diagnosis.It's just because my depression and intense emotions are characteristic, I suffer psychosis, lets give me a label that includes them all. I don't disagree with the BPD diagnosis at all. I really do fit it as awful as it sounds.
What scares me is if I never be able to get treatment and learn to cope with BPD because I get in a rut and it's a struggle.
I like GG because I get a lot of support and making graphics is fun and keeps me a bit sane.
I'm planning on making you a special graphic since you made me such beautiful shar pei graphics. My mum saw them and cried too by the way. She loved them. <3
